Beaver Lodge Manifesto

Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

from the lodge archives via Orange Sabrina….
Beaver Lodge Local 1504 (hereinafter known as “The Lodge”) wishes peace to all peoples, regardless of sex, race, religious affiliation (or lack thereof), sexual orientation (or lack thereof), political affiliation or dancing ability. We work for peace in the neighborhood, on the planet and in outta space.

The Lodge believes that… peace is more than just the absence of war. Peace is freedom from violence, poverty, hunger and fear. Peace is equality, social unity, and human rights. Peace is respect for all life forms and their environments. Peace is equanimity.

And peace is a project that can we accomplish. The Lodge will work for peace the way a beaver builds his dam: through hard work, strength and determination – one stick at a time.

Lodge Leak

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

Things are heating up in the lodge.  An anonymous package was given to an OB in the wee hours of the morning.

“Pst… Somebody found a recording on the cutting room floor from Bullseye’s late 80’s Rockabeaver period. At the time he was trying to resurrect his career after an unfruitful collaboration with Sinatra that made him seem like was (too) long in the tooth. The studio version of this number went to #13 in the Beaverrboard charts. Bullseye’s not going to do this number at the BQP but I thought someone needed to leak it to the press.”

Some of the contents of the package would be flagged if shared but the recording is for all to hear.

The Band

Friday, May 28th, 2010

The Beaver Banditos, making an appearance at the pageant this year, are a band of musicians as well as a band of outlaws.
Wanted by the DOT–on 7 felony charges–for crimes they didn’t commit, they have spent the last year hiding in the swamps and marshes of Eastern North Carolina. Despite the DOT’s efforts to bring them to justice, the group has found the time to come together to practice music. Their woodsheding has paid off with such hits as “I Fought the Log;”
“Beaver City;” “Gnawin’ on Heaven’s Door;” and “La Beaver;” “Sympathy for the Beaver;” and “Black Magic Beaver.”
